Christina Aguilera’s “Bionic” Set for June Launch

Christina Aguilera’s self-imposed hiatus will soon be over. The 29-year-old Aguilera has announced through her official Web site that her fourth English studio album “Bionic” will be released on June 8, almost four years since its predecessor “Back to Basics.”

Aguilera will give fans a taste of what’s to come with the first single “Not Myself Tonight” scheduled to be launched on the Web on March 30. Fans can listen to the preview of the song starting Friday, March 26.

“Bionic” will feature some of indie music’s hottest stars, as Aguilera collaborated with the likes of Sia, Le Tigre, M.I.A., Ladytron, and Santigold among others. “The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic,” she said about her collaborators. Sia, who is known for her stint with Zero 7, described Aguilera in an interview with Spin as “a perfectionist…a mad scientist of singing.”

Bionic is Aguilera’s first project since 2008’s greatest hits “Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits,” which spawned the singer’s highest Billboard singles debut at number 7 with “Keeps Getting’ Better.”
