Lady Gaga Explains Why She Passed Out in NZ Concert

Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour might becoming too much for the 23-year-old performer. Reports said Gaga passed out three times during a performance in Auckland, New Zealand. The concert was completed, but Gaga was seen sitting and lying on the floor by the time that she sang “Bad Romance” for her finale.

In an interview, Gaga blamed jet lag for her near-collapse. “I passed out about three times on stage that night but I got myself to the floor. I’d rather die on stage than walk off because I was going to pass out,” she said in a report by People.com. Gaga is only halfway in her world tour, which kicked off in North America in November. She will spend 15 days in New Zealand and Australia before moving to Japan and Europe. She will wrap up the tour in North America by September.

The Auckland incident is not the first time that exhaustion has taken the better of Gaga. Early this year, she collapsed before taking the stage at Purdue University concert in January. She eventually had to cancel two concerts that month.
