Google Changes Company Name to ‘Topeka’ on April Fool’s Day

On April fools day, Google changed its company name to Topeka. Instead of the usual colorful “Google” logo, the homepage was changed to “Topeka” to return a gesture made by Topeka, Kansas Mayor Bill Bunten. Mayor Bunten was the one who unofficially renamed the city “Google” to get Google’s attention for the “Fiber for Communities” program last March.
